Event Details

Team Motion to Dismiss Cancer is excited to announce its fitness Boot Camp to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s 2012 Man of the Year campaign for San Francisco candidate Roger Royse. Fitness enthusiasts will participate in a boocamp session lead by instructor Patty Purpur from 9 to 10 am on Saturday May 5 at the Cobb Track & Angell Field on the Stanford University campus.

Whether you need to kick start your fitness program, or supplement your current routine, you will be invigorated with a bootcamp style workout by Community BootCamp creator, Patty Purpur.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's mission is to not only cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, but also improve the quality of life for patients and their families.  Millions of cancer patients throughout the country depend in part on dedicated fundraising efforts.  Roger Royse has committed to raise money to fund programs that further the progress of cancer therapy research.

Roger Royse, leader of the Team Motion to Dismiss Cancer

Roger Royse is a Northern California lawyer with a long history of participation in local and national charitable causes. As a Silicon Valley lawyer, Roger lives close to educational institutions and companies engaged in cutting edge research and promising new technologies that can end blood cancers and serve as the gateway to a cure for other cancers. In a time of heightened scrutiny of governmental aid, LLS supports new therapies for the leukemia and lymphoma but also fills a gap in funding treatment of rare blood cancers that get less support from other sources. LLS also provides patient support and services to cancer patients, particularly to children afflicted by not only blood cancer disease but also the side affects of chemotherapies, such as learning impairment and childhood obesity. Roger is participating in the Man & Woman of the Year program to raise money for LLS’ research and patient services. Together we can “move to dismiss” cancer in our lifetimes.
